Free + Open + Simple = Activity

Thanks Pete. Yes, the quantity is remarkable, probably b/c we make it so easy to ask and answer, and it's of course free. Most Q&A sites either make it relatively difficult to ask or answer, are pay-per-answer, or both, and have less activity as a consquence. Compared to sites like Google Answers, which gets only a couple hundred Qs and As per day, we think Wondir's numbers say it all, especially when you consider the relative size of our company.

Software Only: Truveo: the little video search engine that could

Link: Nice, just tried it. Thanks for the heads up, Jeff. The only video engine I've used is Google Video, which is an entirely different animal. Looks like it's indexing fast, perhaps within minutes of the video going live. Solid.

Google Unifying Logins - iBLOGthere4iM

Google Unifying Logins - iBLOGthere4iM Interesting development, as merger and acquisition mania may soon let the big players- Google, Yahoo, MSN (already trying w/ Passport) participate in the identity-movement (watered-down version known as the "single sign-on movememt"). Not nearly as good as having a single identity for ALL web properties, but better than having different logins for all Google properties, all Yahoo properites, etc. It's a start. Still like to see Sxip or the other identity players take this all the way home...

pc4media: Join the Revolution.... This looks like a very good move, Pete.

For anyone unfamiliar with WhizSpark, it's a robust event-building and promotion  platform run by one of the most tuned-in Web 2.0-minded guys on the Web- Pete Caputa.

Software Only: Google BlogSearch: forget authority, trust, link ranking and dust off the old tricks ?

Jeff on Google BlogSearch As he points out, it seems the title field is key. In a way, it looks like you can use keywords in the title field to quasi-tag your post for inclusion in Google BlogSearch. Not sure they look at other tags.

QTSaver Goes Live

Here's Zeev's post on the launch of QTSaver beta. It's a cool microcontent engine that's well worth a spin.
