Working at a summer camp has taught me plenty of things. Probably the top two that I would pass on is 1) Always have plenty of snacks and 2) never take your eyes off of the kids for more than 5 seconds! Don’t get me wrong, we have plenty of well-behaved little ones running around and having a great time but they will find a way to disappear at the drop of a hat.
They don’t get very far but it’s like hide and seek is built into them as well as breathing and blinking. Anyways, our schedules are pretty straight forward with whatever major activities that we have planned for the day which has been a great thing for the kids. I think the best day of the week for us is the field day tournament. We’ve groups that split off into teams, red, green, blue, white, and yellow. We even have our own little bases for each color with a big tent and posters. We always have a great time with the relays and group games and I know that the kids love them too.
